weil, da, and dass
Move the conjugated verb to the end.
The rule
Weil and da introduce reasons; dass introduces reported content. In these subordinate clauses, put the conjugated verb last and separate the clause with a comma.
main clause, weil/da/dass + … + finite verb
The connector occupies position zero inside the subordinate clause and the finite verb goes last.
weil is the everyday reason connector; da often presents an already known reason.
dass completes verbs of saying, knowing, thinking, hoping, and feeling.
